The Peninsula Manila, or colloquially termed The Manila Peninsula or Manila Pen, is a five-star hotel at the corner of Makati Avenue and Ayala Avenue, in Barangay Urdaneta at the central business district of Makati City. The Peninsula is the first hotel from the Hong Kong-based Peninsula Hotels chain to be located outside China.

Features
The Peninsula was constructed in Manila as the venue of the International Monetary Fund conference. It has two wings and 468 suites and rooms. It hit the headlines in November 29, 2007 when the Magdalo rebels, headed by detained senator Antonio Trillanes IV, occupied the hotel’s second floor to call for Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s resignation. After the arrest of the insurgents, the hotel went under renovation and is now open to offer what it calls a “gracious retreat.”
