Nightlife in Manila seems to offer limitless options, from cosmopolitan bars in Greenbelt in Makati to the acoustic bars in Timog in Quezon City. It has no defined red-light district but Burgos, also in Makati, assumes that role. As a frequent destination of international DJs, Manila is at the heart of the clubbing scene, with Big Fish organizing the most swinging parties. A more decidedly upscale bar culture is evident at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City, where the most fashionable of Manilenos dance the night away. As a big fan of karaoke, Manila has countless singing joints, clustering in Pasay as well as Jupiter Street. For some artsy-fartsy nighlife experience, the unchallenged destination remains Malate while alternative bars in Quezon City (Conspiracy) and Makati (saGuijo) are also staking their claims. For dose of folk culture, Quiapo’s Black Nazarene Procession, and the Binondo’s Chinese New Year are on the top of the list. Christmas in Manila arrives early with thoroughfares strung with lights and radios playing Christmas songs as early as September.
